August 26, 2009 Update

Today, Matt had a colonoscopy performed. The doctor said that the colon looked clear. There was some barium along the lining of the colon but, that he tried to flush it out. They will start the tube feedings up this evening at a very slow rate. If he can tolerate the slow rate they will try increasing the rate slowly. If he continues to tolerate the feedings we will then talk about going home. If he doesn't tolerate the feedings through the stomach tube then we will have to talk about putting in another J-tube. That will mean surgery and a longer stay to recover.
