Later Evening Post

A lot has happened today and I will try to recap it, as much as I can remember.

Matt is much more alert today and has played with his computer some as well as talking to us with his white board. He has asked us to pray for him several times which we have done. I think that deep down he is still a little scared of what's going on, which is natural.

To put it into perspective, he went to sleep a week ago last Sunday to get a MRI. While he was asleep, he had the MRI ( times 2), had a tumor removed from his spine, had a tracheostomy installed and woke up over a week later being told that he has a brain tumor that requires chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Quite a lot to absorb. All in all, his reactions so far have been extremely subdued.

When we checked in at the RMD house this afternoon, we got a surprise. When they handed me the paperwork, the first 2 weeks had already been paid for. It turned out that Joelle and Eddie Halpren and Anita and Danny Watsky paid this for us. What a blessing! (Noel cried).

When we got back to the hospital, they moved Matt over to the pediatric oncology floor. He is now settled in his room and getting a little sleepy. We are getting ready to go back to RMD House and will be back in the morning.

All in all, a very eventful day. Tomorrow will be busy also with a PIC line installation and hopefully the start of chemotherapy. I will post the RMD House address later for those of you who would like to send Matt a card.
