Sorry I am so late posting this but as usual we have been busy this morning.
Matt had a good night. I went upstairs to sleep at about 10:30. I slept until about 1. When I came downstairs the nurse was getting ready to do trach cleaning. I explained what she was getting ready to do. After he understood he laid still and cooperated with the nurses. I stayed in the room until he was sleeping again. Went back to sleep, after a shower, and got a call from the nurse at about 4 that Matt was asking for me. Came downstairs and tried to get him back to sleep. During this time his catheter came off and he used the urinal. He has now used it twice today.
After I went to get Mrs Pat I went upstairs and got a little rest. The PICU team let us know that his white cell count has dropped a little since yesterday. This was expected as a side effect of the chemo treatment. One of the neurology residents came in this morning to just say hi and take a look at Matt. He was encouraged to see Matt sit up. He also said that Matt's right eye looked as though it was tracking better than when he originally met Matt. This made me happy.
Matt then had a workout session with the physical and occupational therapists.
They sat him up and stood him up twice. I did get a picture of him standing today which will be posted later.

You guys have been on my mind all day today.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you all and asking God for favor, rest, healing, strength, and closure to this season.
I am so proud of how you have all held on to Christ and have kept your eyes on Him.
I know you must be tired and on some days weepy and drained and on others thrilled when matt is able to sit up or have improved eye tracking or whatever he is able to do that most of us take for granted and now has become milestones for you.
We may not all be able to visit or send things but many are in prayer for you, cry with you, and rejoice with you.
You remain in our prayers and you have but to ask for whatever you can think of within our abilities and we will happily do it.
In the mean time- we pray!
We look forward to the rejoicing as Matt is healed.
We're counting on a superbowl party with Matt and Noel competing on loudness of team spirit!
Love youall!
