Only limited additional information since the last post.
The team thinks that a biopsy is not necessary because they are sure that everything going on in his central nervous system is related. They have come to this conclusion in consultation with his neurosurgeon and the oncologists. I believe that we are pretty much going to be turned over to oncology as the lead specialty in Matt's treatment and will probably move to that section of the hospital. We'll post more details on the treatment plan when we get them over the next few days.
They are still trying to bring Matt out of sedation but are having some trouble. They are carefully cutting back on his sedation med and adjusting the vent to bring him out slowly and safely. He is retaining fluids and they are treating that also. We are patiently waiting for him to completely wake up.
On the logistics front, I am going back to New Orleans on Sunday and my Mom is coming up to Baltimore for 2 weeks to help Noel. After that, we'll see what the situation is.
