With all of the tumor talk in the last post, I forgot to mention how Matt is doing now. He is more alert than he has been in the last week. His pain/sedation med is down to very little. His blood O2 levels are doing great and he is not getting any help from the vent (though it is still attached). He was a whole lot more comfortable than has been when they tried to wake him up before.
The nurses did a great job of working with him today.
Good night.

That's so funny that you just added this post letting us know how Matt is doing. I was "just" wondering that very thing! LOL!
ReplyDeleteJohn and Noel it was soooo good to see you again yesterday. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to give an update. Not on Matt, but on you two! When you were in N.O. I was so worried about you guys, I'm sure everyone is wondering how you are holding up. So for everyone reading the comments, here's a John and Noel update:
ReplyDeleteThese guys are amazing! They greet us with hugs and smiles and make US feel at home (I thought that was our job). I told Noel that Billy asked if she still makes her awesome brownies and in her loving "Noel style" she jumped up, went to the kitchen and pulled out all the fixins' and started making brownies so we could take them home to Billy! Is that classic Noel or what? Lady you blow my mind! I mean, come on...she HAD the BROWNIES MIX! What a MOM!
John is a rockin Dad. He's got it all covered. Ray asks a question and John's got the answer. As they were waking Matt up a bit, John was explaining everything to Matt so he wouldn't be afraid to find out all that was around and in him (IVs, trach, etc.). Meanwhile, Noel gave foot rubs and filled him in on all of the football stats of the day. Matt's in good hands! I know that you are all concerned about them, definitely keep them in your prayers...cause they are being answered. John and Noel are being lifted and supported by all of you.
OK, I'll turn things back over to John. (hope that was ok to take over heee, heee).
Love you guys,
Kate
I have to agree. You guys rock! I couldn't go to bed without checking up on Matt. Thanks for letting us know how you guys are doing. You are an amazing family, I'm in awe.
ReplyDeleteHi Guys: We are keeping up with Matt's progress by speaking with Betty & Leon and also reading your blog. Thanks for keeping us informed and we are keeping Matt in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteLove,
NeeNee and Uncle Danny
John & Noel,
ReplyDeleteI am continue to be amazed and encouraged by your strength and positive attitude. Keep it up, it helps all of us who love you guys to keep focused on the important thing - Matt's recovery.
I am praying for the doctors for wisdom in their plan for treatment for Matt - that it will be quick and effective.
Thanks for keeping us advised - I log in often.

Good News Big "J",
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan is developing and that's great news. It stinks when they can't tell you what you have but they can tell you what you don't have! You guys are in our prayers!
Big "A" aka Augie
P.S. I miss the meetings in the hall ways.
