Sunday Evening

Our friends, Ray and Kate Lynch came back today to visit us and Matt. They brought lunch which we all ate at the house then went over and visited Matt.

Matt is less sedated now and he was able to interact with us somewhat. At first he kept trying to grab his trach tube but settled down and stopped after a while. Later in our visit he got really squirmy and they had to increase his sedation a little. Overall, it was a good visit and we are encouraged with Matt's progress.

The CAT scan came back negative for a clot in his lung and it looks like the changes they made to his vent have greatly improved is O2 saturation levels.

We are looking forward to tomorrow and hearing what the team has come up with for a treatment plan.

  1. So glad Matt didn't have a clot in his lungs and that he was more interactive some this evening. The speech pathologists there can help determine if there is an alternative way he can communicate with you when he is still on ventilator and more awake. Charlotte D.
