Tracheostomy Done

I just talked to Matt's nurse and his tracheostomy is done. He is doing well but is still pretty sedated from the procedure. We're going to go and see him at 5:00 pm.

Noel and I also went down to the the Ronald McDonald house this afternoon. This place is awesome! Each room has a flat screen TV with a DVD and VCR. The rooms each have private bath and a double bed and twin bed. Volunteers cook dinner every day at 6:30 pm and cook breakfast on weekends. Te whole house is very well done and looks like it is in a much better part of town. It is about a 20 min drive from the hospital. We've decided to move there next Thursday. We'll let you know more about this later.

  1. Great news about both the trach and the Ronald McDonald house!! I stayed in one in Ohio and being with other families that were going through rough times too was a blessing all it's own. I'm so glad that it worked out.
The trach will be more comfortable for Matt (and make you feel better too, since he will look better without the tube in his mouth). Sounds like all good news again today!
    love ya,

  2. Great to hear Matt tolerated his procedure and is doing well. I reviewed your update on the path results. I agree that it looks like cranial nerve biopsy may be the next step. I am happy to hear y'all have so much support there and are looking to relocate to the RM House. I left the office late and went straight to dinner with my family so I will try to touch base with y'all over the weekend. Dr. Jones
