The spinal fluid test result is back and Matt has a non-germinoma germ cell tumor. This is the worst of the two possibilities but it is still treatable. We are going to meet with the oncologist, Dr. Cohen this afternoon to discuss the chemotherapy and give consent for treatment.
They are probably going to move him to pediatric ICU tomorrow and start chemo tomorrow or Friday. Dr. McArthur thinks the prospect for cranial nerve healing after the tumor is dissolved is good.
Matt was pretty lively today when we were there. He even used the computer to type a note telling us that he wanted his sleep mask. When we left, he was down to no pain/sedation drugs and minimum vent settings.
We just gave consent for a new PIC line for the chemo. They are going to put it in first thing in the morning.
More later after we see the oncologist.

I'm sorry that this is the answer but we will still give praise at having an answer and doctors capable of treating it. Hope the move to the McD. House goes well tomorrow.
