Later in the day, PT and OT came back and worked Matt out some more. They got him back in the wheelchair and did some arm and leg exercises. This makes twice today that Matt sat up in the wheelchair. I don't think he's done that before.
Speech therapy came by and worked with him also. The therapist asked Matt to swallow some saliva and she said that he appeared to be doing that better than before. Swallowing is a very important function that Matt really needs to get back. It would improve his nutrition greatly and possibly allow him to get his voice back. Please pray with us that improvement will continue in this area.
Matt really enjoys having visitors so please come by if you have time.
Guidance for Visitors:
1. There is no age restriction.
2. If you want to come during the day, please call Noel (606-8014) first so you don't come during PT, OT, etc.
3. Most of his activity is finished by 4 pm so you don't have to call after that.
4. Please don't come if you're sick.
5. Don't feel like you have to bring anything. Just your presence is more than enough.
