Matt had a good day today. They took him off of many of the medicines that they put him on when he first went into ICU. He is responding well to the Tamiflu and is just a little tired now. They have taken him off the arterial line blood pressure monitor and he is off the vent and just breathing humidified room air.
We thought we might be able to move back to a regular room today but since he has the flu, they want to hold him in ICU a little longer. This is to protect the other patients on the HEM/Onc floor, many of which have compromised immune systems. This is understandable and we would not want to be responsible for infecting another patient just to get Matt out of ICU sooner.
Matt watched the LSU game today and was not very happy about the results. Hopefully, the Saints will do better tomorrow.
For those of you wondering about the lack (and lateness) of these posts, the ICU does not have wireless so we can't post until we get home in the evening.

Ok Matt I am not really feeling to bad about LSU getting put down by the ROLL TIDE. But I am glad you got to watch the game. Just saying ..... Hey and I think I saw where the War Eagle won too. Yesterday was a great day and maybe today for the Saints. I will help you pull for them. Just keep getting your strength back. Noel and I will be pulling hard for those Saints. GEAUX SAINTS.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear the forward progress. Matt, you are never far from my prayers.
