Tuesday Morning

Matt is pretty much over his flu and was finally moved out of the PICU last night. He is temporarily in Room 403, which is on the 4 Central unit at Children's (take the blue elevators). He can't move back to 4 West (The Hematology/Oncology Unit) until Friday. This is to protect the other patients there from possible infection.

They did a study of his J Tube yesterday because on Sunday, the nurse noticed leakage from the tube when she tried to feed him through it. The study showed no problems. If the surgeons agree this morning, they will start feeding him through it again.

We have been told that the two doses of Etoposide that he missed this round will not be given and that we will start the 4th round as scheduled in a couple of weeks.

Matt is feeling better and we hope that the Physical and Occupational Therapy sessions can re-start soon so he can make some re-hab progress. His blood counts are as expected and his condition is good, given that he's a cancer patient.

Visitors are welcome, please come up if you can. One warning... he is still under droplet precautions so you'll have to wear a mask.
