Sorry to be silent on the Blog for a few days but there was really not much news to report. So to catch everyone up...
Matt started his 5th cycle of chemo on Saturday. This is one of the short cycles when it comes to administering the drugs, only 3 days of actual drugs. He finished receiving the chemo drugs yesterday. This cycle will end 3 weeks from this past Saturday (12/9/10). At that time, they are going to take another MRI to see if the chemo is still doing him some good.
Matt is having a rough time because of the side effects of the chemo meds and he also has some sort of head cold that is causing a drip on top of his trach. This in turn causes him to try to cough this stuff up which he can't do. All of the effort is not allowing him much sleep or rest. We are working with the docs to resolve this and we're going to get an ENT doc to come see him (hopefully today).
Matt has had a bunch of visitors the last couple of days, which he really enjoyed, despite his difficulties. It seems that visitors can take his mind off of his discomfort. Several different groups have also come by and left Christmas presents for him. We are all very grateful for this.
