Well, we finally met with Matt's doctor. The news is mostly good. MRI shows that there are no active cancer cells in Matt's body. We will go ahead with the sixth round of chemotherapy. This will be done to basically give the bed sore an additional three weeks to heal. After that round, we will wait about four weeks before beginning radiation treatments. Radiation will begin around the beginning of March and last for six weeks.
To also help with the healing of the bed sore, John and I will discuss with Matt and the doctors the possibility of doing a diversionary colostomy. This will help by getting the poop away from the wound area. Please pray that we have wisdom when explaining this to Matthew. Also pray that we and Matthew make a wise decision.
After returning from David's basketball game last night, John and I saw Dr. Singleton out by the nurses station. She let us know that the CT Scan that Matt had done on Thursday showed that there has been improvement made in battling the pneumonia. Another reason to Praise God and do the Happy Dance!
