Matt is out of surgery now. It took longer than they expected because of all of the previous surgeries that he has had is that area. The results are that they took out his J tube and put in a button type G tube. This will eliminate all of the tubes hanging out of his abdomen. The doctor said that he doesn't need the J tube and can now feed through the G tube because the Nissen will prevent reflux. Long term, it will be better for him to feed through the stomach.
He is going to have to stay over night in an ICU or telemetry room because of the length of the surgery but should be back in his regular room tomorrow.
We are going to see him in a little while when he wakes up.
Thanks for all of your prayers. These surgeries should help him to get better.
