Wednesday

Some good news today. When a new ophthalmology resident came to see Matt today, she asked him to blink his eyes as a part of her examination. Noel immediately told her that he could not do that. About that time, Matt did blink his eyes!!

Matt has not been able to voluntarily or involuntarily move his eyelids for many months. He is now able to move them both voluntarily. He is not really blinking as you or I would but he IS able to move his eyelids and close his eyes most of the way. This is a great thing. I am trying to get him to move his eyelids on purpose to sort of build them up. It also seems to me that his eyes are working together a little better.

We are overjoyed with this development because it is the first sign of nerve healing we've seen in a while. Hopefully, this is only the first of many improvements to come! Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to keep Matt in your prayers.

We are also on day 2 of the LAST chemo cycle.

  4. Hi Matt,
Aunt Pam and I got to see your eyes blink in person. What a thrill that was! Your mom was crying on no cry Wednesday and so were we. I think we all had chills just watching God work in you. We are all praying for you and your family. Stay strong. Hey Noel I don't think the fudge made it home. I guess those little pieces that don't count really count after all. haha It was DELICIOUS.
