More ICU

Just when we thought we were going back to 4 west, Matthew had a serious cardiac issue (V-Tach - Ventricular tachycardia). He was only in V-Tach for about 2 seconds but the doctors want to be very cautious because this can be dangerous. They're thinking and hoping that the V-Tach was because of his recent sepsis and pneumonia combined with being off of his cardiac meds for a couple of days (because of low blood pressure). They want us to stay in ICU 48 more hours for monitoring so the earliest we'd be back in "his" room would be Saturday morning.

The surgeons came by today and looked at his wound on his belly. They decided to surgically close the wound tomorrow. The cardiologist gave clearance for this to happen. The sepsis seems to be under control at this time. The pneumonia is responding to current medications.

Thank you to Bonnie and Austin Cannon and Smita Thacker for visiting today. When he fully woke up later Matt gave a thumbs up to the Superbowl envelope. This will definitely add to his memorabilia collection.
