It is with great sadness that I tell you that Matt passed away a little before 3 pm today. Thanks to all who followed him and supported us and him. Do not lose heart because Matt is truly in a better place. We will miss him but he is with God in heaven now.
I will post details of the funeral arrangements later but preliminary plans are for a service on Wednesday, March 24 at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Kenner.

I can't even begin to imagine what you and your family must be going through. I'm so sorry for your loss and what you've all had to endure. I hope you find the strength as a family to get through this, I'll be praying for you. Matthew was an incredible young man and he put up the fight of a lifetime, I'm glad he finally gets to rest now.

My heart is broken for you. Please do not ever doubt that the decision you made was ABSOLUTELY the right one. A very loving and unselfish choice. Your baby boy is with his Heavenly Father now. Praying for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteOur family was saddened to hear that Matt's journey here on earth has ended - saddened for his family and friends who will miss him dearly. I know you are so proud of how Matt fought this incredibly difficult battle over the past year and how his faith sustained him and kept him going. Our bible study has kept up with his progress and prayed for him over the past year and we were all so sorry to hear of this outcome. With that said, we know he "fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). Your family is in our prayers and we are grateful that the good from this is that Matt is with God now in a paradise he has obtained through his faith. We will pray for healing for all of you. fondly, Melissa Jones (Mary's sister)

John and Noel, I'm so heartbroken over your loss. The pain of those left here on Earth can be unimaginable. But I have no doubt that Matt stands before our Lord, probably regaling Him with stories of the Saints' run to the Superbowl. We're praying for you both, your whole family and all the many people Matt touched over his too-short but so important life.
ReplyDeleteAll my love, Laura

Hi,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Crystal Constable. We don't know each other, but I have been keeping up with your family on your blog. I found out about you through Susie Scarborough. I have known Susie for many years.
Anyway, I just want you to know that I have been keeping your whole family in my prayers. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a comfort to know that Matt was a christian and his pain is over now, but yours has just begun. I will continue to pray for healing for your family.
