John & Noel I just read the entire blog and I am sorry I didn't know sooner. I have been praying for your family all day. Your son is a beautiful man and you both have done such a great job as parents. I will keep checking throughout the day for your updates. I'm prayer for you all God bless you both. May God bring you his peace the surpasses all our understanding. Thinking of you all. LeiLani Hegwood
I wish that I had words of wisdom for you...but I don't. I'll just re-state what someone wrote yesterday: I wish you peace and comfort, strength and guidance.
I contacted an family friend who is a Pastor in Bixby, OK for prayer for you guys, and here's her response - thought I needed to pass this along:
I am so touched by your prayer request for this young man. I will certainly pray for him, and for his parents that God will guide them in making the right decision. We serve a God who calls life from things thought dead, He is also the same God who has ordained the moments of our first breath to our last, and every one in between. We trust God's timing for Matthew, whether it be a physical miracle, or the miracle of a child going home. I do know this, God is very much in control, and even death cannot do anything without His permission. God is well able to raise up Matthew should He so choose. My heart goes out to the parents, and also to the family and friends. I pray they will find peace, strength, and hope and courage. God always guides us in peace, even when the waters around us are so troubled and we can't see clearly because of the blinding storms and winds. But, in spite of the storm, God still gives peace to His dear ones.
