Surgery Was Successful!!

Matt's J-tube surgery was very successful. The doctor told us that there was minimal scarring from the previous surgery. If all goes well, they'll be able to start feeding him in a couple of days and possibly discharge by the weekend.

On another front, the Shell Case Worker with UHC called and told me that the proper process was not being followed to get a direct hospital-to-hospital transfer (via air ambulance service). We are now on the right track and even though there is still no assurance that it will be approved, at least we are now going to get an answer one way or the other. You know, with insurance companies, half the battle is getting the paperwork right.

  1. Getting the paperwork right is definitely at least half the battle so YAY for getting it straightened out! And super YAY for a successful surgery. Prayers answered!

  3. Recently heard about people and/or companies that provide free or greatly reduced fees to transport patients like Matt. Air Compassion America is one. I googled it and there are a few to choose from. Just thought I would pass that on to you guys.
