Just talked to Dr. McArthur and here is the plan for Matt:
1. They are going to leave him intibated (breathing tube) tonight because they are going to do a cardiac MRI tomorrow morning.
2. This means that he is going to spend at least tonight in the Neurology Intensive Care Unit (limited visiting hours).
3. We will sit down with Dr. McArthur tomorrow and discuss the findings of the Neuro MRI after he has had a chance to go over the results with the neurosurgeon.
4. It is possible (and I think likely) that they will keep him overnight in ICU again on Sunday nite and do the biopsy on the spinal cord growth on Monday.
We are very happy to be here with all of these world class medical resources helping Matt.
We are encouraged that they are finding things wrong with Matt that may explain his condition and lead to treatment. They already started medium-high dose (~ 100 mg/day)steroids via IV today.

George and I are praying in thanks that Johns Hopkins is where Matt is. We are confident that this is where he will be diagnosed and healed.

ReplyDeletethankGod,they have him on steroids! this will probably reduce swelling, fluids, & make his body stop fighting itself!I remember being in Philadelphia with my baby boy, fighting severe infant ezcema & moderate asthma, because drs in Princeton, where we lived, couldnt figure it out!!!or they didnt care!! either way, i knew it was my responsibility to keep trying to find the right plan.
ReplyDeleteDr's started hydroxizine,&nystatin, 2 fight the vicious yeast/mucous cycle, & he began to improve.intravenous vitamin C,zinc may help.
this is the best case for fighting for cross state line care!!can you imagine if this administration succeeds in making these opportunites vanish??its worth fighting for at this time in history.

i wrote this yesterday,saturday, but it wouldnt go thru for some reason. still praying 4 u all, know in my heart that God is doing good for your family even in all this. dont stop praising Him for the victory of matts total restoration!!!Remember, we praiseHim IN allthings,not FOR allthings! this is a fight,a fight of faith,we overcome by the blood of the LAMB & the words of our testimony...Everyone agrees, this is the place where Matt will be healed!Speak it,agree pray it with each other, & others will be praying it here!!!GodBless!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that all they've said about JH seems to be true. I'm so happy that they seem to be getting to the bottom of Matt's medical condition and with God's help a cure. We're keeping you all in our prayers.
