Nite Nite

Matt's ready for his first chemo treatment tonight. He is a little afraid so please pray for him tonight.

Several people have asked about his diagnosis and I realized that I haven't explicitly posted the diagnosis so here it is.

Matt has a non-germinoumis germ cell tumor in his brain. This tumor is pressing on the cranial nerves and causing his neurological symptoms. As the chemo shrinks the tumor, it should take the pressure off of the nerves and his symptoms should improve. Yes, this is cancer.

Matt does not have neurosarcoidosis or Guillian-Barre' or CIDP or any of the other things they thought he had before.

Noel is staying with him tonight.

  1. Matthew, John and Noel,
I will be thinking and praying for Matthew tonight as I do every night. I hope he tolerates his chemo. I believe in my heart we will see his smile back real soon. God Bless you all, Dr. Jones

  2. Hey! I finally figured out how to do this! Sorry, I am not so savy on these types of sites.
    I am not a teenager, after all! : )

We are praying for Mathew tonight as he starts his chemo.
We are praying for you all as we have been and will continue to do.

May God give you peace, rest, conmfort, and joy!
May Matt's healing come quickly and the testimony that comes forth from this experience bring much glory to our God and King!

May you always know God's hand upon you and may this trial soon be over!

We love you so much and wish we could be with you!

Garrin, Chanell, and all the gang!

  3. Noel,

I will be praying and thinking of you and your family. I wish I could give you one of those big hugs right now that you give my family when you see us. God will never give you more than you can handle. Tell Matt the Appersons are thinking of him. We love ya'll.

  4. I hope that the night went as well as possible and that Matt has a good day today. Please tell him that I am looking forward to the day when he will be able to smile (the "Bertucci smile" as I remember Mom saying + other smiles!), close his mouth and open his eyes easily without extra help, talk, and do much more. Sending prayers for Matt to feel better and recover and for strength for all those caring for him. Charlotte D.

  5. Noel, I'm so glad that you get to sleep in his room. I would want someone I love to be with me too. I can understand his fear and his need to have you all close as he goes through this. I'm glad he's been moved where that is possible. May the Lord's strength and peace keep you through this. You are in the thoughts of your family and friends many times throughout the day.
We love you all and look forward to seeing Matt better.
    Love,
    Susie
