Today, Matt went out to the hall with the Physical Therapists. The had brought up a new walker. Matt stood and walked twenty eight feet in the hall. They sat him down and let him rest. After he rested he got up and walked back twenty eight feet. I am so proud of him. Should have new video of Matt walking on the blog soon. Also, look for pictures in a couple of hours.
When he got back in the bed, he worked with the music therapist. She had him beating a bongo drum to repeat the rhythm she played. Then her assistant played the bongo drum while Suzanne and Nana held tamberines to the side for Matt to hit. They did a great job playing "When the Saints Go Marching In." Shortly after that he was napping. Hopefully he gets enough rest to be energenic for the Occupational Therapist this afternoon.

ReplyDeleteYay Matt!! I'm so glad to see you walking again! You look great, and I'm glad you are building your endurance up to handle 2 walks. Very impressive. Congrats on another Saints victory! You all are headed to the Super Bowl for sure! I'm currently mourning the Bengals loss today, but we're still in first place so I won't mourn for too long. We're still thinking of you often back in Baltimore, and know you are impressing eveyone back in New Orleans! Keep up the great work. I'm glad you are feeling better!
